Today, we’re excited to introduce Eva, our Senior ESG Expert within the Product Discovery team, for another insightful coffee chat.
Let’s get to know her better and draw inspiration from Eva’s passion for ESG. For those who are unfamiliar, ESG is short for Environment, Social and Governance, it relates to a set of factors defining corporate responsibility.
Hi Eva! Thank you for taking the time to share some insights. We want to get to know you a bit better first. If you were alone on a tropical island, what are the 3 things you couldn't do without?
"The first item on my list would definitely be sun cream, as I'm always concerned about protecting my skin from sunburn. Next, I couldn't go without my mobile phone as staying connected to my family and friends is too important to me, and I can’t do without music either. Lastly, I’d bring a boat along for practical reasons in case I ever wanted to leave the island."
Can you tell us when you joined Lucanet Group and what your role entails here?
"I joined the Lucanet Group three years ago as a consultant. For the last year and a half, I’ve been working in the Product Discovery department. Together with my colleagues, I’m now contributing to an innovative ESG solution for our customers and our own organization."
How would you explain your role to someone who is unfamiliar with it?
"It’s my responsibility to stay on top of the latest ESG regulations and assess how they can be incorporated into our ESG solution."
How did you pursue becoming an ESG expert? Can you share a bit of your professional journey and what aspect of ESG excites you the most?
"The synergy between my studies, Lucanet's support, and my personal enthusiasm for the subject has played a crucial role in my professional growth. I started my Master's degree in Energy and Sustainability Management a year and a half ago and I will soon graduate. Lucanet has given me the opportunity to delve deeply into these topics in a hands-on manner. What fascinates me about ESG is its complex nature and broad applications. This creates an ongoing learning journey where I can continuously develop myself."
What does a typical day or week look like for you? And is there a particular moment that stands out as a highlight in your routine?
"My schedule varies from week to week, involving independent work and collaborative projects. I often engage in discussions with colleagues from different departments for consultation. I also regularly attend conferences and events to stay up to date with industry trends.
One of the highlights of my day is completing tasks on my to-do list, which gives me a sense of accomplishment."
What makes your current projects exciting? Is there anything you are looking forward to?
"I’m very excited about our new ESG reporting software and its growth potential. It's truly rewarding to be part of such an evolving topic and product."
What keeps you motivated, even when facing challenges at work? Have you encountered a particular obstacle that you successfully navigated?
"It is important for me to remember the purpose of our work. Meeting the new sustainability reporting requirements is a big challenge for companies. It's reassuring to know that our solution can simplify this complex issue for our customers, and thus really help them."
What three aspects do you think define Lucanet, and what do you hope to still see five years from now?
"For me, it’s the direct and transparent communication throughout the entire organization that makes our daily work easier. Also, our supportive environment; colleagues are always willing to help and provide encouragement. Finally, Lucanet offers great flexibility in organizing your own work. You can set your own working hours and place of work, which is a huge advantage for me."
