We had the pleasure of chatting with Cindy, Training Coordinator in our Customer Success team, about her experiences working abroad and taking full advantage of LucaFlex.
Hi, Cindy! Thank you so much for joining me today. Tell me a bit about yourself and your role at Lucanet.
"Hi! I’m Cindy, and I am part of the Training Coordination team. I've been with Lucanet since June 2021. Originally from Chile, I've been living in Germany since 2016. I absolutely love travelling, which is one of the reasons why LucaFlex was such a big draw for me to join Lucanet."
I agree, the flexibility of this benefit is fantastic. Where have you had the opportunity to work from?
"Since I started at Lucanet, I've worked from Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, England, Austria and different cities in Germany. I typically take care of homes (and pets) while the owners are on holiday. That way, I don’t have to pay for accommodation, I get the house to myself, and I can experience cities like a local."
How was your experience working abroad? Were there any challenges? What did you gain from it?
"The experience has been fantastic and incredibly enriching. I bought a portable screen, so I can stay fully productive while working from abroad. Sometimes, I start my workday a bit earlier so that I can end it sooner and enjoy the afternoons and evenings exploring a new city. So far, I haven't had any difficulties luckily, but I've gained so much! I always try to make the most of my workation time."
What was a highlight during your travels?
"While working from London and Vienna, I had the chance to meet some Lucanet colleagues. We went out for dinner, drinks, sightseeing, etc. While working from Spain, I stayed just a block away from the beach. I'd have a longer lunch break to enjoy some Paella and then a nice walk by the sea. Those were the best lunch breaks ever!"
What are your thoughts on working from abroad? Why do you think it is important for employers to offer such a benefit, and why should Lucanet employees take advantage of it?
"This is the benefit I take the most advantage of, and I highly recommend everyone to make the most out of it. Working in a new environment feels a little bit like being on holiday. Time flies, energy levels and productivity go up. You complete your tasks even faster and with more motivation, so you can enjoy the new places to the fullest.
In my opinion, every employer should offer this type of benefit. It not only attracts top talent but also boosts retention with employees as not all companies offer such flexibility. I can’t express enough how thankful I am for this mobile work opportunity. Thank you, Lucanet!"
