In our coffee chat series, we like to invite our colleagues to get the inside scoop. Join us for a cup of coffee and a chat with Tereza, our Head of Delivery at Lucanet, and peek into her world of Tech & work-life balance.

Hi Tereza, thank you so much for sitting with me for this coffee chat. Can you tell me when you joined Lucanet and what you do here?

I joined Lucanet's Tech department in 2020 as a Project Manager, and now I am Head of Delivery. The Delivery department is responsible for disciplines such as Quality Assurance and Project Management.

I want to get to know you a little bit better, so let's play a game! Imagine you're stranded on a deserted island, what three essential items would you bring and why?

Firstly, I would bring my phone, as it serves multiple purposes: staying in contact with my family & friends, as well as holding all my music and podcasts – which I'm addicted to. The second item would be a book, as there is nothing better than losing yourself in an exciting story. And lastly, a fishing rod to catch fish, as it is healthy and it kills a lot of time, waiting for the fish to bite.

Sounds like a fun time on your fictional island! Coming back to Lucanet, what does a typical day/week at work look like for you?

All my days start quite similarly: I have a cup of green tea at home and then I hop on my bike to ride to the office. Then I start checking my mails and schedule to prepare for the topics of the day’s agenda. Normally I'm quite busy with meetings during the day, which is why I enjoy lunch time with my colleagues a lot. Only in the early evening can I then go back to work on the To Dos that come up during the day. Working on the To Dos in the evening serves as a daily wrap-up for me. I then bike back home or go to the gym to finish the day and get my mind off work.

Looking ahead, what are three things that define Lucanet and that you hope to see in the company in five years?

The first thing that pops in mind because I experienced it myself, but also because I always hear it from new colleagues, is that everyone at Lucanet is just simply nice and very helpful. This makes it so much easier to start at a company when you feel that everyone is willing to help and answer questions. Secondly, I feel like Lucanet is doing a really great job to be a modern employer, by offering flexible working hours and overtime compensation possibilities. It's not only nice to have these benefits yourself, but it also really helps with hiring good talent. Thirdly, I feel that Lucanet is very forward-thinking around ESG topics, which I feel are of great importance, as they will have a significant impact on our future.

In the context of Women's History Month, I would love to gain insight into your experiences as a woman working at Lucanet. Is there any particular experience that you would like to share?

Instead of focusing on a single insight, I would like to highlight my overall experience working at Lucanet. I feel a strong sense of comfort here, as equality is simply an inherent part of the company culture, which I genuinely enjoy.

Thank you so much, Tereza, for sharing your insights with me! I have one last question for you today: Do you have any tips for potential candidates?

Dare to apply, be yourself, and make sure to prepare for the potential interview!
