About the company

The Swiss Paraplegic Foundation (SPS) is one of the largest solidarity foundations in Switzerland. It is the umbrella organisation of the Swiss Paraplegic Group (SPG), which offers a unique service network for people with spinal cord injuries. From emergency care to rehabilitation and life-long support, the foundation enables those affected to return to family, work and society.

The Challenge

Manual processes slow down Plan and financial consolidation

Balance sheet planning was only possible in Excel', recalls Karin Bucher. 'There was no involvement in the financial consolidation.' This meant a lot of manual work without integration. 

In addition, there is the complex Intercompany reconciliation. With nine organisations – from the Swiss Paraplegic Center to Orthotec AG and regional SPITEX organisations to the Swiss Paraplegic Association – the internal links are complex. Services in IT, HR or real estate  result in extensive internal billing, which must be coordinated manually. 

As a result, around 12 person-days per year were spent on financial consolidation and closing alone. 

The Solution

A fast, integrated process

With the support of Lucanet Premium Partner BEEI AG, SPS introduced Lucanet software. The changeover went smoothly: Instead of traditional training, the system configuration was used directly as practical training. 'We found our way around the system right from the start', says Bucher. After less than ten days, the team worked productively and added further processes step by step.

Transparent Intercompany reconciliation 

Today, Lucanet is the central platform for group financial consolidation, balance sheet and multi-year planning as well as the resulting cash flow statement. The Intercompany reconciliation is also running smoothly and is extremely transparent.

Integration into the downstream BI system further facilitated the transition. Both historical data and new Lucanet figures flow into the same evaluation environment – the basis for consistent reporting.

Every change in Lucanet is traceable – this creates security for the team and the audit.
