Classic BI

Classic BI is the counterpart of Financial Intelligence (Business Intelligence in accounting) and is synonymous with classic Business Intelligence applications. These are concerned with

  • planning,
  • reporting and
  • analysis of business-specific data.

Business data are first imported into an individual data warehouse as part of a custom ETL process and are made available there for various planning, reporting and analysis processes.

Financial Intelligence is standardisable and work of this kind should be carried out with the help of standardised software; by contrast, Classic BI, individual solutions are usually added to the basis of the main technology used. Classic BI projects permeate the entire company and are relatively demanding in terms of time and cost, due to their custom design and large IT components.
